Successful NFL players with lackluster college stats

Priest Holmes career stats at Texas:
Attempts: 252
Yards: 1276
Avg: 5.1
TD: 20
Had only 7 TD’s FR-JR years until his final season where he had 13 TD’s on only 59 carries.
Played in 36 games and stayed all 4 years.
Bizarre numbers to say the least.
Went on to a stellar 2001-2004 and was a mainstay in several fantasy football lineups.

Idk if I would call 20 tds lackluster
certainly not what he did in the nfl but those few carries probably left a lot of tread on the tires

Most RBs from Tennessee come to mind between Arian Foster and Alvin Kamara.

Hunter
Like 4 sacks in college and already over 50 in the nfl at 25 years old.

Arian Foster
He finished UT with 2,964 yards. Not sure what you’re talking about.

Josh Jacobs almost matched his career rushing yards total from Alabama in his rookie season for the Raiders. Would have surpassed it if he didn’t miss 3 games due to injury

Pretty sure Warren Moon was mediocre at best in college.
ETA: Career 48.8%, 6.6 YPA, 19 TDs, 17 INTs.

Danielle Hunter had 4.5 sacks in 3 seasons at LSU. He has 54.5 in 5 seasons with the Vikings.
Good ole Chavis using one of the best NFL pass rushers as the contain guy.

Look at his yardage. A little over 1200 in 4 years playing in 36 games?
That’s 35 yards per game average

Priest Holmes tore his acl in a spring game
Frank gore also comes to mind recently for a guy top 5 in all time yds

I think there’s plenty better examples

I think Holmes is a great example. Averaging 35 ypg is pretty lackluster for a guy who ended up being a 3x 1st All Pro.

Probably need to bring up Aaron Rodgers
Despite how you feel about him on a personal level, he was a CC transfer that is a future HOF

He was never the starter at Texas.
He was fifth on the team in rushes his first two seasons. Second his junior year, his senior year they had Ricky
I guess that makes it lackluster idk why I’m arguing lol

How many co player of the year are mediocre at best? How many qbs who lead their team to the pac 8 title and win mvp of the rose bowl are mediocre?

Bucky Godbolt got him injured overworking him in practice and let Ricky slack off and smoke dope

As someone who watches him, his stats weren’t lackluster. He might have been the best freshmen back I’ve ever seen. 9.1 ypc.
He had 197 carries for 945 and 8 tds off a blown out knee.
