I only know what i've read on this board, but my understanding was that he played both ways his senior year, and due to his offensive responsibilities (think he scored damn near 20 TDs as a WR), his play slipped on defense. The poor play led to a decrease in his ranking.

Make no doubt about it, this kid is a high four-star recruit.

I watched Major Burns play he was not a 4* player imo. He played both ways but was still ranked as a 4*

He didn’t slip on defense. He’s just been to multiple schools and played against sub par competition his junior year at a private school.

He was the anchor on one of the best defenses in Texas this year. I don’t think he gave up a TD all year. He virtually shut down our (Rockwall) 5 star receiver that went to Ohio St.
