Was it though? All those positions had contributors that were recruited under Les.
Lets look at 2017 depth at each:
QB: Etling, McMillan, Narcisse, Brennan. - Behind Etling were 2 freshman and McMillan who transferred to Tulane which was a place that was more appropriate for his talent level. Narcisse left and didn't really pan out. Brennan gets his shot this year but it was clear that he was not ready in 2017 or 2018. WHo knows how he'd have done in 2019 if we don't get Burrow.
WR: Chark, Gage, Dillon, Anderson, Sullivan, Davis, and Jefferson. - Russell Gage was a great person and an amazing STer but should never have started at WR on an LSU team. Chark was obviously good. Jefferson was the only person on the list that would truly pan out. The other 4 all were beat out by guys recruited after them so...
OL: Listing all the players would be exhausting but lets just know that Charles and Ingram both started at true freshman so the depth here was laughable.
Inside LB: DW was a beast but the other ILB was Alexander who was invisible at best. Behind them were 3 true freshman in Queen, Taylor, and Phillips. So not a lot of depth there.
Outside Lber: We had Key but he didn't play for a while which forced Chaisson to play as a true freshman at the buck so... no depth there. Divinity and Thorton battled for the F Lber spot but that position barely plays so I don't really consider it a starter.
Yeah... there were depth issues in all of these spots.

What?
You know he plays for the Falcons now right? He hasn’t exactly lit it up, but saying an NFL guy should never have started at LSU seems a tad.. ridiculous.
