Your commute is about 4 hours a week. Most people on this site are in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, and their commutes are between 5 and 10 hours a week. Lotta wear and tear on the Silverado, too.

When you drive, you lose that time because you get nothing done and pay to do it . If you don’t drive, you automatically make the time potentially productive.

This thread makes you automatically smarter than 99% of the people on here. It’s one of the best life hacks there is.

The truth: a family of four with more than one car is most likely a family full of suckers.

The truth: this is one the dumbest things I have ever read in my entire life. Anywhere.

The truth:

If you live in a rural area (and in Louisiana that means outside of New Orleans, BR and Shreveport, maybe), if you don't have a car, you're most likely a fricking bum.

Ain't nobody got time to wait, 30 minutes, an hour (if you're lucky) to get an Uber ride from BFE, Louisiana to Timbuktu, Louisiana.

And $700 a month just to get back and forth to work? And $15 to go get something to eat. $15 to go pick up your prescriptions. $15 to run to the store to get milk that you ran out of.

FFS...

Two problems:

1) You are under the impression that you can’t be productive while driving.

2) Somehow, you seem to have convinced yourself that you are saving money.

WTF?

You either have very young kids or kids who don’t participate in activities outside of school. Several times a week my kids have to be in two separate parts of town at the same time. Car pool helps some, but no way it’s done conveniently without two vehicles.
