I liked this part of the story:

quote:

He was particularly excited to have the opportunity to purchase one of the classic rock band “The Who’s” old tour buses. He removed the engine before burying it at the edge of his bunker. One thing is for certain about The Who’s old tour bus. It won’t get fuelled again.

I've seen outfits selling pre made bunkers made out of culvert tubes for big money.
Man frick that. I’m kinda claustrophobic and there’s no way I’m living in a fricking buried culvert.

I’ll die outside.

I don't know where these kooks get the idea to use vehicles like this. They aren't designed to carry the load, laterally or on top. They have fluids (unless you painstakingly strip them) in the crankcases, transmission, brake lines, etc.

You have to pull the seats. I mean, I would get it if it was shipping containers - all you would need is a welding machine and some know how to make connections where you needed them.

But school buses? FFS...

I've been following that guy since '92 through some of the old first prepper forums like Frugal Squirrels and Y2k .... he's got everything in that set up. Even has a dental lab and small hospital.

I love that Doomsday show

However last night they had a couple and it made no sense. They feared one of the four volcanos near them erupting, and spent well over 150,000 to prep three different ways to leave in boat, RV, etc.

I mean just buy a helicopter at that point and just fly to another part of the country that it won't effect. I mean it's actually that simple. They weren't prepping for a doomsday, just for smaller volcanos. Baffled me.

Find some shipping containers or use poured concrete walls - if you're going to do something, do it right.

That would make a great underground "Grow".

If he's got any grandchildren, one of them will put it to use.
