I know this is very last minute but ole lady mention taking a few day (3 or so) beach trip at some point between February 3rd and 9th. Two people, I think keep in under $2k total. Coming from New Orleans and Iowa. Any recommendations?
Edit: would like warm temps, not simply being near a beach

Good luck. If you want warm weather and you’re having that short of a trip, I’d say The Keys

This. It really isn't worth flying out of the country for shut a short trip.
Miami(South Beach) or San Diego might be options.

I've gone down to tampa and ft. Lauderdale the past 2 weekends, been 78-80*F. If thats good enough for you, i'd suggest florida as you can likely keep your costs below $2k.
Only thing to be aware of is the superbowl in Miami next sunday so hotels may be sold out in that area

I'd suggest by looking at weather forecasts obviously.
San Diego? High temps are only in the 60s each day he'd be there.
Key West? Highs in the low 70s. For most people, that's too cold to sunbathe or swim.
If everyone in your family already has passports, I'd go to Cancun, where the high will be around 80 each day, or somewhere else in the Caribbean.

Only two of us. Yes, we have passports. Any Cancun resorts or websites to recommend? I am a travel novice.

Check out Puerto Vallarta as well. It’s awesome this time of year. SWA is reasonable to get there. You can find a cheap VRBO.
Puerto Rico maybe?
