O wants more pressure and I have a feeling he and Aranda had a lot of back and forth this year about just that.

If you watched the way Clemson attacked LSU in the early going it was impressive. They had Burrow confused all quarter. Even in the second half the looks Clemson threw at Burrow were impressive.

Pelini has ties to Venables and that style of attacking defense.

In order to recruit top dlinemen you have to let them attack and pile up stats. Aranda's d was more predicated on the DL eating up blocks so the LB's could make all the plays. That's fine but it also exposes those LB's to coverage issues.

Realistically if you blitz a lot you’ll eventually get burnt.

The only consistent way to win on defense is getting pressure with 4.

Clemson had a much better defense last year when they could do that.

What I noticed was when LSU went to tight, bunch formations, that's when Clemson's blitz caused problems. Clemson had 8 guys in the box on those formations and it was hard for Burrow and the line to decipher who was coming. When they went to empty or CEH in the backfield they were able to pick up the blitz better.
