Interesting read from Zero Hedge regarding that question.
LINK
It goes into saying that SARS (another coronavirus) was effective in binding to the ACE2 enzyme. Just so happens that the Asians have higher concentrations of that enzyme. Give the article a read, it's not long. There is some speculation that re-infections can occur and cause myocardial issues, but I'm just taking that as speculation.

That Zero Hedge article is EXTREME speculation. It’s what someone who has no background in science but reads article summaries would write. They are piecing together text messages from family members of doctors, scientific article summaries, and rumor.

Does that mean Malaysia is in on the conspiracy:
No evidence recovered Covid-19 patients can be re-infected
quote:
IPOH: There is no evidence that individuals who have recovered from the Covid-19 infection can be re-infected, said Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.
He said normally any individual who recovers from a viral infection will have immunity against that virus.
“It is feared that a re-infection can occur, but so far there is no evidence this can happen. Usually, after a viral infection it is rare to get a secondary infection by the same virus because we are protected by the immunity created.
“In China, for example, doctors use blood plasma of patients who have recovered (from Covid-19) to treat seriously ill people, but we need data to know whether it works or not,” he told reporters after handing over school security monitoring equipment, here, today.

Hopefully this doesn't derail the thread (is that possible?). I just needed to do something kinda funny/uplifting after spending some time with my grandma in hospice.
