Yeah, that would be news to EVERYONE that in a period where ACTS are NOT even given that he could have qualified. He FAILED in the December test...the next two tests are supposedly in mid/late Feb and mid/late April. So yeah, you can't qualify in January because there is no ACT test given in January.

Well, since he was an early enrollee, it is possible. Eligibility is now based on a sliding scale. It used to be that an athlete had to make I think a 17 on their ACT to qualify. Now it is on a sliding scale that takes gpa into consideration as well. For example, if a kid has a 3.5 gpa, they qualify to play D1 ball with a sum of 39 on their ACT (composite of a 10). So, depending on what his ACT score was, he may have been waiting for final test grades for last semester, and he could have gained eligibility based on his GPA being high enough to now allow him.

Not at all saying this happened. I have no idea his GPA or ACT scores, but just pointing out that ACT score is relative only to what an athlete’s GPA is and vice versa.
