Most people on here myself included do not know the dynamics of college football offenses. Usually the guys who get paid millions of dollars know these things more than us. They spend 12+ hours a day looking at film. But what I can tell you from a simple google search is during the time from 2008-2010 the Big 12 ran a lot of the spread offense. Go check out Pelini numbers at Nebraska against those teams. He did a hell of a job keeping most of them under 20 points.

Agreed, he has creds. Trust O guys. Close the deal.

I’m more concerned about the offensive side.

I think the gut reaction is “going back to miles era”

But once you stop and think rationally, you remember he can coach.

Has to be Corey Raymond. He coached with Pelini at LSU and was his DB's coach at Nebraska one year. It's no coincidence all of this comes out as its announced Raymond agreed to extend at LSU. Raymond must has alot of influence with O.

We should promote Raymond to coordinator.

What about the 56 points he gave up to North Dakota State last year?

Melvin Gordon ran for 408 against him. I’d worry about that too.

In addition to above-mentioned connection to Raymond, I believe Pelini was DB coach for Pete Carroll for about 3 years.

Dude haven’t you figured out that this board is full of defensive geniuses that just choose not to cash in on their expertise?
