If the committee modifies this and lets 9th graders play freshman sports no matter where they come from and just make them ineligible for Varsity or JV, it will have a much better chance. With the way the attendance zones are gerrymandered a school like Catholic will have 80% of the kids within a 2mi radius of the school ineligible as freshmen. Heck you could live on Claycut, East of Acadian about 1/20th of a mile from CHS and would be ineligible there but eligible at Episcopal or Dunham because of the way Tara's is drawn.

You have to remember, that only has an impact on large schools. Smaller schools don’t have enough high school athletes to have separate freshmen teams. Many smaller schools don’t even have separate JV teams in some sports.
