Yeah, I think we should have not fought in Vietnam, in the end it was pointless. But it’s awful the way people treated veterans like your uncle. Many did not want to be there and they were forced to fight, and were treated like shite when they came home. People should have focused the hate on the president and congressmen, not the young men carrying out orders they didn’t want to do in the first place.

Probably some medieval battles. I'd rather be shot than beat with a sword.
WWI trench warfare is probably the worst from a psychological pov. Weeks or months of sheer trench boredom punctuated by heavy artllary, while you're captive in a trench, then charging across open ground to get gunned down or bayoneted.

Citing historical events and casualty logs do not do the horrors of any war justice. Movies, photos and documentaries cannot capture the “presentness” of war, only the history of It’s battles.
