Trying to find a shop that will rewind my alternator for my Land Rover. Stock is 130 amp. I'd like to go to 200 amp. Anybody got any idea on a price as well?

Giant piece of shite. Like all Land Rovers.

Land Rovers are cheap as dirt once they hit about 8 years old.

What?

Why did you just write 200-amp?

Where is Lucas Electronics? I looked them up on Google Maps in the New Orleans area and I couldn't find them.

It’s getting tough to find such shops. There aren’t enough people looking to get it done.

How much is a new alternator (with swap)? $250.

What year Rover? Stock were Magneti Marelli alternators and most people just replaced. Mean Green used to run about $375 or so. Don't know if they're still making or not. I'd be careful using a rebuild with higher amps, as mixed results aren't unusual.

Do you dumbasses think I don't know what Lucas Electronics is? Why the hell is he telling me about a large multinational manufacturer? I was asking about a local shop that rebuilds alternators.

I thought maybe he was referring to a local shop by the same name.

Settle down Francis
Just have it rebuilt don’t go screwing around with the electronics on a Land Rover.

Figured as much but I thought I'd ask.

Just ordered one off of eBay. 150 amp. 30 over stock. $123. No core necessary

Where can you get them rebuilt, that's what I'm asking. Who rebuilds alternators any more around here? And I'm not worried about the electronics on this vehicle. It's from 04. But yeah, it's fused at 150 right now so that's what I'm going to stick with so I don't have to make up a new cable and refuse.

You're full of shite. Don't be so insecure that you can't admit that you had to Google their joke like I did. That insecure bs is annoying.

You prolly chose to read the same article as I did bc of the picture of the smoke in the jar.

G&M electric is a rewind shop. May do alternators (small item). They open Monday @ 8. Website is online. Cost not sure. I usually budget $75/HP on a rewind of a motor.
