The difference was so stark that you're giving up direct flights for better customer service?

I'm not a big fan of BA but that seems like a huge consideration. That said I'm only a frequent recreational/occasional business traveler rather than an every week business traveler (plus I'm Atlanta based), so perhaps connections aren't as dreaded from your perspective.

Yes, all of my travel is International, and I pretty much always fly Business class.

On long flights, and last-minute changes to flights -- like going from India to Asia-Pac regions (or vice versa), Delta is just so much easier to deal with. And to be fair, it isn't really Direct routes... before, BA eliminated a leg. Now there are more direct international routes out of AUS with DL -- so it offers the convenience that BA offered, but with better service.

Also, I don't like the BA business class configuration, where you can be face to face with the person next to you.
