Jacob Goldstein tweet:

Didi this season:
-0.6 PIPM (43rd percentile)
-2.4 O-PIPM (10th percentile)
+1.8 D-PIPM (91st percentile)

Didi right now is a 3 & D wing who can't shoot 3s, but a season with Fred Vinson might help with that. This will be interesting to keep in mind in the offseason as we think about trading Jrue and filling his role as a defensive stopper.

DiDi looked pretty damn good in the Summer league hitting those 3s.

For comparison's sake, Lamelo is shooting 37% from the field and 25% from 3 in the same league and is considered a top 5 pick in the draft. This is an extremely competitive league, far more so than college. I'd put far more stock into the eye test than the stats, if I had watched a single game (I haven't).

Kenny does a lot of little things well, but I do not think of him as an elite on-ball defender. He's too slow to guard quick 3s, and he's not big enough or strong enough to guard lots of 4s.

he's struggling to shoot for some reason, but he has good form. I cannot imagine Didi not improving dramatically as a shooter

I'm curious how the board responds. If Didi was in this draft, where would he get drafted? Lottery? 1st round? top 10?

I think he'd probably be getting mocked right around RJ Hampton, so like late lottery. RJ has more offensive upside, whereas Didi has more defensive upside.

that's where I land too. I think he'd be a lottery pick

which probably says more about the prospects in this year's draft than it does about Didi, but still exciting considering the wealth of prospects we have
