Well what happened there was nothign out of the ordinary.
Guy transfers in the offseason, other qbs see that he's better and they aren't going to play, so they also transfer. Common occurance there.
King played half the season, didn't like the results, so he quit.

if he comes in with an understanding he'd have to compete for the job, I don't see the issue of adding competition.

That's why I would be shocked if CEO is legitimately courting him. I can't envision any scenario where O would reward that attitude.
