The only mystery is why this question keeps coming up. Since the beginning of the BCS championship game, virtually every game has been on a weeknight.

In the BCS period, only one of the games was on a Friday night and one of the games was on a Sunday night (that was LSU versus Oklahoma). The rest of the games were all on Monday - Thursday nights. Every CFP Championship game has been on a Monday night.

At this point, you might as well ask why the NFL plays so many regular season games on Sunday afternoons ??
