What horsepower gains did you receive?

Is it really a "horsepower gain" when you change out the whole motor?

I wish we had more car threads here.

I’ve never done an LS swap, but I’ve always wanted to do one into a Jeep.

LS3s put out over 400rwhp, I think, compared to about 200 from a stock TPI motor. So you're looking at doubling your power, at a minimum.

You are almost doubling your torque as well, so you'll certainly need a different transmission. IDK what people use... T-56? Built 700-R4?

Probably need some subframe connectors or something, too, and welded-in ones at that.

Is it worthwhile? Well, it's probably as worthwhile as an engine swap gets. People are putting those LS engines into everything.

Personally I'd probably just work on the TPI, but that's just me and I don't have thousands of dollars I'm wanting to spend on a Camaro.

LS engines are the GOAT.
Cheap to modify, Easy to work on.
Reliable as they come.

Bout to put an LS in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. 420hp 6.2 from a Denali with an 8 speed automatic.

It’s really not a light vehicle with the big bumpers, winch and 35” tires but it’ll still move with 420 horses

Not really. I use it off-road for hunting only-nothing too major. Just love LS motors. The stock v6 says it has 285hp but it’s pretty weak and sounds pathetic.
