Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes ... Welcome to the postseason version of the Saints Game Thread
Your favorite football team and mine was less than 1 inch away from having this weekend off after tying the best record in franchise history, 13-3, for the 4th time (2009, 2011, 2018, 2019). However, the 2019 Saints became the 2nd of those 4 teams (2011) to be forced into a game on Wild Card Weekend.
In order to get to Divisional Weekend, the Saints must defeat a team they were cheering for 2 weeks ago, the Minnesota Vikings, whose offensive no show on Sunday Night Football the weekend before Christmas allowed the Green Bay Packers to stay in position for the bye.
The Vikings were 16th in the NFL in yards per game this season (353.5) & 8th in points per game (25.4) and will have 1 of their top weapons, Dalvin Cook, back in the line-up. The Minnesota defense was 11th best in yards allowed per game (341.6) and 6th best scoring defense (18.9) this season
The Saints, perhaps as healthy as they can be at this point, will have to step up with the 12th best defense in yards allowed (333.1) and 10th best scoring defense (21.3) in the league. Meanwhile, what's been undeniable has been the ascension of the Saints offense over the last month of the season, finishing 9th in total yards per game (373.9) and 3rd in scoring (28.6).
LET'S DESTROY THESE SCANDINAVIAN BRUTS AND PUNCH OUR TICKET TO LAMBEAU!!!!!!
Of the 53 players remaining on the active roster, the Saints are fairly healthy heading into today's game, Eli Apple (ankle) and Zach Line (knee) are both OUT of today's game, but everyone else, including both our starting safeties Vonn Bell & Marcus Williams, are good to go today.
On the Vikings side, CB Mackensie Alexander (knee) & CB Mike Hughes (neck) will both miss today's game. In fact, Hughes was moved to IR with his neck injury after practicing on Wednesday & Thursday. DE Ifeadi Odenigbo is QUESTIONABLE for today's game with a hamstring injury, otherwise, all other available Vikings are good to go.
Weather: We're in the Superdome today... so 100% chance of Kirk Cousins' ears ringing when this game ends.
Uniforms: The Saints reportedly asked the NFL to allow them to wear color rush, but that was shot down, so it'll be the Dome debut of the all-white uniforms

I'm oddly super confident in us today(I always have a shadow of doubt if we show up, but not today)...my dad keeps telling me to STFU I'm going to jinx us and though I'm usually superstitious I have no fear today, despite the fact that Minnesota boast the #1 defense in yards allowed after the catch..,I just got a feeling that we are going to dominate both sides of the ball today and abuse Xaiver Rhodes, Kirk cousins with 2 picks, and Breae pitches the highest completion percentage in Playoff history....Kamara and Murray about to Eat!
Saints roll 38-23; that's Saints and Over for you degenerate bettors!!!

Let's do this! We've got quite a playoff history with the Vikings. First ever playoff game, lose to the Vikings in the wild card round. Make it to the divisional round for the first time, lose to the Vikings. First NFCCG at home, beat the Vikings. Then, of course, the Meaningless Miracle 2 years ago. Let's add anothee W to this story that Viqueens fans will whine about for years to come.

Nice read, rt3. The formatting and information makes for a great read. Let's get down to business and blowout these Viking bums.
