Yep - they will score. Team with the most points wins ! Hoping it’s not one of those “last team to score” games, but I really think we will be in control & in the fourth, they never have a possession to take the lead.

Point averages against top 50 scoring defenses:

LSU: 39.7 (5 games)
Clemson: 24.6 (3 games).

Are you attempting to say that you would like to bet $25k that LSU will not score 40 points?

LSU has played 4 top 20 defenses this year (UGA, Auburn, UF, Bama). The only teams who the Tigers scored 40+ on were Alabama and UF. Clemson has the #1 scoring defense in college football. Ohio St had the #3 scoring offense and was averaging 46 per game and Clemson held them to 23. I know Clemson's defense isnt the same as previous years and LSU has the best offense in the country but lets not act like it is a foregone conclusion that LSU will run tur Clemson D off the field.

To be fair, we could've scored more against UGA, but pulled Joe pretty early and took the foot off the gas.

This game is going to be a dog fight.

Clemson is a great team. 14-0. They’re probably better than Bama at full strength, and they’ve got championship pedigree. This stage isn’t new for them.

I just think LSU wins, but to answer the question—-

This game will be on the defenses. Sunshine hadn’t thrown an INT since Oct 19. We need to get 1.

I’m not going to be surprised if they hold us to 35-38. They’ve got a solid D and, their offense will possess the ball enough.

I just think we’ve seen talented defenses and they’ve all tried to confuse Joe and give different looks.

Having said all of that: 37-31 LSU

Not to mention...the OM game was a week after the high from Bama, and I'd have to think the D was probably banged-up a bit. Also, Plumlee played out of his mind.

That game was 31-7 at the half. I'm not saying it's right, but you can't tell me some of the guys on the D-side didn't slack a bit in the 2nd half (again, coming off Bama) of that game knowing full well we were going to win.

I'm more concerned about Etienne, than Lawrence. I think our secondary can keep him somewhat in check, but Etienne makes me nervous as shite.

I’ve been watching the Ohio State / Clemson game and I have a feeling that this game will be like 63-58 unless Aranda finds a way to shut down their QB run game and find a way to shutdown T. Etienne in the run game and pass game as well.

If Aranda can figure that out or at least limit their production then I think we win this game by 14 or more. If not then it’s going to be who has the ball last or who makes least mistakes. TO’s, big plays on ST’s, TFL and penalties.

What I noticed in the Ohio State game is that Ohio State made huge mistakes when it counted and they also weren’t close to as effective with the pass unless they were running the football. I also noticed that Fields is no where near as talented as Burrow. Lawrence is closer but still not as good. Clemsons passing game just doesn’t scare me much but that could’ve been because Ohio States rush/coverage was really good?

I know that our QB/WR’s/TE’s/RB/route concepts or scheme will be something very unique to Clemson’s defense and is extremely effective against everyone we’ve faced and I don’t believe that will change just because we playing Clemson. Ohio State played about as good on defense as I’ve seen all year and Clemson was able to create huge plays via the QB run and passes to Etienne.

Ohio States defense was knocking the crap out of Clemson’s offense. They were much more physical on the field then Clemson was. That Ohio State offense is good but nothing like LSU. Next year if Fields makes some progress they’ll be better.

So my conclusion is that LSU’s defense will HAVE to play its most physical game of the year to slow them down. Basically Ohio State rushed the QB a little too much and got out of their lanes which created huge holes for Lawrence to run through. LSU needs to keep contain while collapsing the pocket similar to how they played Hurts. We also need to make damn sure we tackle Etienne and those WR’s.

I honestly don’t see Clemson stopping LSU consistently. Burrow will NOT make the mistakes that Fields made. LSU also doesn’t necessarily HAVE to run the football to move down the field. Of course it will help if we can but I think our run game is dangerous enough to pull their LBs and safeties up to create holes in their defense. Clemson also plays multiple safeties in their defense, up to 4 at a time. We can take advantage of this bigly. This will be a real test for our defense like Alabama was.

It’s too bad that Clemson gets a 2 week break after that physical game. They would then see what it’s like in the SEC having to play 2 or more games like that in a row with no week off. I hope our defense comes out ready to smash some heads. Our offense will need to play physical as well. Can’t wait, GO TiGERS!!!

Are you willing to bet $25K that Clemson could hold an NFL offense to 40 points? Because that is LSU's secret - they are using the Saints offensive philosophy and schemes and even the best college defenses can't keep up. On 1-13-20 this will become very clear to you

LSU will hang 40 on Clemson before halftime.

I think you're right. This game will likely go the way of the Texas and Bama games. I see a shootout far more than I do a defensive struggle or a blowout by either side.

I like the good guys by 10.
