Portgual -> Northern Spain -> San Sebastian

Planning my honeymoon in mid-May of this year.
Direct flight to Lisbon. Few days in Lisbon. Train to Porto. Bus over the border to Vigo. Rent car. Drive through Asturias, along coast stopping along the way until we get to San Sebastian.
Anyone ever attempted or have good recommendations?

Went to Lisbon last year, was fantastic. Spent a day in Sintra as well beautiful area. Can give you recommendations on places to go but not eat.

There is a train from lisbon that takes about 30 minutes. Once there you can take a tuktuk up the hill or Uber up. The tuktuk line was long so just uber'd up.
I am planning san sebastian this summer so I am interested in suggestions as well.

Check out travelcookeat.com by Marti Buckley. She grew up in Baton Rouge and Birmingham and went to LSU. She has lived in San Sebastian for several years now. This is her blog that has good recs for restaurants and activities. She also wrote a Basque cookbook last year that is excellent.
She works for Mimofood.com a high end food centric travel company. They have a cooking school in Hotel Maria Christina and do tours, wine tastings, etc. Not cheap, but we really enjoyed the tours we went on.

In Lisbon Cervejaria Ramiro was the best meal we had. We also spent a couple of nights at Duque Brewpub which is on the narrow pedestrian only street. They set tables up outside and its great to watch people go by whilst getting buzzed.
I'm narrowing down our trip to the Basque country and San Sebastian is a definite. Maybe just day trip to Bilbao and then go over to the french side to Bayonne for a couple of days. Flying into madrid so there for a couple of days and hitting Pamplona on the way to San Sebastian. I'm open to suggestions.

My daughter lived in Spain for a year and we got a chance to visit her a couple of years ago. Spent quite a bit of time in Asturias. Her favorite places by the way we're Bilbao and San Sebastian.
Northern Spain in my opinion is by far the prettiest part of the country. We loved touring around the Picos de Europa. Covadonga. Oveido. Cangas de Onís.
Can't say enough good things about this cool little inn we stayed in!

Lisbon and Porto are amazing, as several on the board have already provided comments I will focus on San Sebastian - though I would recommend spending some time in the Douro valley if you can swing it. It is truly breathtaking scenery, and I can provide a good recommendation on a place to stay in Pinhao if you decide to change up the itinerary a bit.
San Sebastian (and Basque Spain in general) is also dope. We went in mid/late May a few years ago, which was a great time to go because its shoulder season, and I hear it gets packed with tourists in July/August. The only downside is weather, as it still might be fairly cold/rainy. But we got really lucky on weather and even were able to hit the beach some, so here's hoping you luck out as well.
The best thing about San Sebastian is the food, particularly the pintcho (that's probably the wrong way to spell it, but I don't speak Basque, so whatever). Essentially, every restaurant/bar as cold or hot appetizers for one to three euros, and you pub crawl while eating and drinking cheap bears or delicious cheap riojoa wine. It's the best way to eat and drink your way through a city.
As far as fine dining goes, we went to the Michelin starred Mirador de Ulia, LINK /. The food was really good, but there are more highly acclaimed restaurants in the city. However, the view was absolutely spectacular (it is a big glass restaurant on one of the hills overlooking downtown), and would be a great spot for a romantic dinner. Email them, tell them you are on your honeymoon, and ask for a spot near the window. It's breathtaking (and honestly, I thought the price was fairly reasonable considering the location and that it is Michelin starred).
