The below picture is of a campaign button from the Whitehead and Hoag Company. The only information I have is that it is from around 1912 (which I have doubts about) and that it may be of a governor or presidential candidate from the turn of the century.
Does anyone know who this might be? My initial thought was an older William McKinley, and I’ve heard from someone else it may be Rutherford B. Hayes, but little nuances in their portrait lead me to doubt that.
Any help would be appreciated.

Rutherford B. Hayes died during the 19th century, so it wasn't him in a 1912 picture.
McKinley looked like this, & he didn't get old.
Was assassinated in office, 1901

Thanks. I should have thought about that a little more, but just off looks alone disregarded it, not even thinking about timeline or McKinley’s assassination.
