frick this game but I love it.
That slut Ornstein is whooping my arse so I went to the painted world and grinded souls like a bitch to get my intelligence and strength up to take him on
Side note: One of the few games to outright tell you what weird stat names like intelligence and dexterity apply to in game. Thank god.

DS1 has a great sense of discovery/adventure that is missing from the other games. all great, but DS1 was def special.

Heard from multiple people that have been with the series a long time on a discord server the consensus is pretty much DS1 is the best. It’s been a blast so far. I’d start with it. Haven’t played the others though.

I’ve heard many times that the PC version is really buggy. I wouldn’t know though, I just got into the series with Dark Souls Remastered on Switch. Finished that and now I’m into Bloodborne and loving it.

I go back and forth on this. Objectively I think ds3 is the "better" game, but that first playthrough of ds1 is pure magic.
Ds1 is hampered by a less than inspiring 2nd half. Mainly lost izalith, as I like the tomb of giants and the archives.

I just bought the remastered for ps4. I've only played Bloodborne so I'm trying to finish a couple other games before I start it cause I know it's going to consume me.

The replay value in all 3 Dark Souls games is insane. The difficulty makes you want to get better but the number of classes makes you want to explore different builds.
I've beaten DS3 at least 4 or 5 times. I used a standard STR/DEX build on some and I used an INT build on others.
DS3 is my favorite. But the overall level design of DS1 is the absolute best.
DS2 isn't all that bad, it just tried to do something different.

You’ve got to play Demons at some point. Not required for story though.
Also, it’s much easier to kill Ornstein first, but you get better rewards for vice versa
