Exactly! Oklahoma strikes fear into nobody. Why are we obligated to tiptoe around that fact. We're going to anihilate them and I don't mind our players saying so before the game.

We weren't hanging on for dear life, and the defense getting the onside kick isn't luck.

Defending teams recover more than 80% of expected onsides kicks.

We missed on the first attempt to recover the kick and the ball was loose on the ground. McMath was hustling and happened to be the first to get to it but that was not a routine recovery.

They don’t need it - but if you don’t understand why those quotes can change a teams mental focus - right now there is a decent chance they come out tight, anxious etc. now they’ll be coming out to prove a point. It’s a very different behavior to start a game and gives them an unnecessary edge.

Now we all believe it won’t matter. But what if LSU comes out tight. A motivated early lead by Ou and our playing tight lessens our chance at victory.

Some of you clearly don’t understand how emotions and focus (and what the focus is on) affect the beginnings of game.

I agree with all you've stated. But.... this years Tigers have that certain chemistry. There are players on this team playing above their level of ability, watching Joe Burrow's weekly efforts tends to bring out the best in others. Doesnt matter what OK pins to a bulletin board, Tigers will pull it out. I believe that is what Patrick meant by his comment. These guys believe in one another THAT much. Not just loose talk, these Tigers believe!

Chase on an OU DB.

quote:

Q. You mentioned Oklahoma's secondary and talked about them as a whole. What stands out to you about Parnell Motley, No. 11?

JA'MARR CHASE: Nothing stands out about him too much. I watch him. I see he's -- I don't know if he's that long. I don't really know how tall he is. I see he's kind of fast. He'll try to put your hands on somebody just a little bit, but I'm ready for it. I want him to put his hands on me.

Q. Why is that?

JA'MARR CHASE: Because he's going to feel me then.
