How many spots can we roll into next year if we elect not to sign a few?

One for each EE you have in the next class (2021). An EE's scholarship can be applied either to the current academic year (20-21), or the academic year that they are signing for (21-22).

I believe the limit is 3 for back counting as the maximum number of players that can be signed is 28 (25 per class plus back counters)

I wouldn't mind going into next recruiting cycle with some room to back count or take transfers. Next recruiting class should be a monster class as there is usually a one year delay after a great season for it to impact a recruiting class. At least don't fill it just to fill it unless they are impact type players (Evans, McKennly Jackson, Burch, that safety from Florida that decommitted from Oregon, Sedrick Van Pran, Jamal Gibbs, etc.) or maybe a way under rated player like we hit on with Justin Jefferson and Moreau.
