Sure we could, with no problem. But how does that address the humanitarian crisis at the US-Mexico border? Children are dying in ICE custody. Toddlers who should be in the hospital getting treatment for pneumonia and diarrheal diseases are in police custody!

Get treatment in Mexico or your country of origin.

Death numbers in ICE custody or at hospitals once released for treatment have steadily declined since 2003. There was a slight increase in 2014-2017. It looks like approximately 3 deaths per 100,000 detainees.
