LaTech Prof fired for comments made in classroom, reinstated after student petition

Appears that Michael Savage, history prof at LaTech asked the class a question about race that was perceived to be irrelevant to the lesson. According to a student, he asked minorities to volunteer how they felt living in the United States.
He was fired and then reinstated after students supported him via online petition.

Yeah Tech's really a very good university, but not necessarily an incubator for stimulating liberal conquests. You got no street cred tweeting out provocative liberal ideations from Louisiana Tech.
