I have a toilet that the bowl won't hold water but the tank holds water fine. Google says it's the vent but its clean, is there anything else I should check before just replacing it?

Unless your toilet is leaking water onto the floor it's fine.

quote:

The most common reason your toilet bowl water level is low is a damaged fill tube. The fill tube is a small flexible plastic hose. ... When this happens, the toilet tank fills with water and the valve shuts off the water flow before the bowl fills adequately

Also could be the fill valve... vent as you mentioned, or a cracked toilet. But the first two are the most likely and no water on your floor means your toilet is fine.

Sounds like the over flow tube has a leak.

If you fill the bowl with water with a pitcher will it drain down and the water level will it lower? If so you probably have a cracked toilet.
