New Jersey Democrat Jeff Van Drew announces he will vote AGAINST impeachment

Breaking news on CBSN.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew, one of two Democrats to vote against formalizing the impeachment inquiry, told me he plans to vote against all the articles of impeachment "unless there's something that I haven't seen, haven't heard before."
Van Drew warned Democrats to "be careful what you wish for" and he added that impeachment "is tearing the nation apart. … And I want to bring people together." Van Drew said he would have preferred a censure vote so they could "move on."
Minnesota Rep. Collin Peterson, the other Democrat who also opposed the inquiry, said this when I asked if he'd vote to impeach: "I don't have an idea what they're doing." And he walked on the floor.

I hope the republicans do a 'trojan horse' and all vote for it to make sure it goes to senate

Uh ohh Democrat Elissa Slotkin is now "undecided" as her 2020 election results are now "greatly diminished". She pushed for the Impeachment.

This is the last thing you want to have happen.

Any republican vote in favor for impeachment is a bad idea. It gives a certain legitimacy to a ridiculous proceeding. The GOP should play it straight and vote against it.

And this is Exhibit A as to why nobody respects Congress: too many idiots wetting their finger and holding it up to gauge the direction the wind is blowing.

That makes for at least 2 dozen Dems on the fence (those identified in this thread). What's the number needed to shut this down?

Not sure but I think I heard/read 30...

They need 216 and have 233 (+1 independent)

Somebody has done a nice job running a bunch of ads around here with Slotkin and a few others, warning them not to be obstructionist.
