Any recommendations on where to eat or things to do in Philadelphia with my son who is 12. Thanks in advance.

DiNic's at Reading Terminal. Roast pork sandwhich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. Order it wet and it's heaven.

You could also go visit Pat's/Geno's and do the classic cheese steak tasting test. Or on way to stadium the original Tony Luke's is still slinging them under the overpass.
Get to stadium early, so much to do on game day. Watch the march in, visit the army/navy exhibits etc.

I went last year for the Army/Navy Game, make sure to get to the stadium at least 2 hours early for March On, and be forewarned that it will be airport style security run by the secret service due to President Trump attending, so it will take longer than usual. College Gameday was at Xfinity Live last year, which is across the street from the stadium.
For things to do, I would definitely recommend the Independence Mall area. There are a lot of great historical things to do around there (Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Philadelphia Mint, National Constitution Center, Museum of the American Revolution).
Hope you and your son have a great time.

How was it? I went in 2010. Highly recommend it to all.

Unbelievable! Watching it on tv does not compare. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone. South philly Barbacoa is as good as advertised.

Absolutely, the experience is so much more than the game you see on TV. This was the first year I've missed in the past 5, but I'll start a new streak next year for sure.

You are lucky. The Army/Navy game is a bucket list item for me and my sons (for when they’re older).

How do you even get tickets for this?? Or is it a matter of being willing to pay whatever?
My dad was Army and my grandfather (other side) was Navy pilot over Normandy on D-Day. Would be an awesome thing to see this game.

I had to make a donation to navy to purchase the tickets. Or you can take a chance and try stub hub. But the tickets on stubhub were double the price including the donation I paid.

I'm fortunate to be friends with a USNA grad and he gets to purchase a bunch due to status and donations luckily. They do get pricey on places like stubhub, but usually the military ticket purchases are pretty fair with selling at cost to former military.
