I hope we can do it again... Georgia players were going down like flies on that thing

The amount of rubber flying up every time a player made a cut was alarming. I hope they fix it before the 28th

How do you fix it? Less rubber pellets?

0% chance of that happening. It's shocking the NFL doesn't have strict guidelines on playing surfaces. I think Houston actually has two, one for the Texans and one for the rest of the games played there. I know as field turf ages it becomes more slippery.

That field scares me. I hope we don’t get someone hurt like Georgia did

It should be an advantage playing on it once already and being able to make equipment adjustments.

The post game interview setup was situated where you could see Stadium workers in the background. They were going around with rakes and what looked like scoops and sometimes sweeping pellets into the scoop and putting in buckets. Not sure if that is common or just surveying the surface for high spots?

How is it NFL teams don’t have a problem on that field?

That is routine. They also have a riding machine that vacuums up the pellets in the front and redistributes the uniformly out the back. For some reason there was too much rubber on that field Saturday. It’s a simple fix.

you do realize that NFL teams play on that surface. There's nothing wrong with it.

I am pretty sure it is a different field than the one the Falcons use.

Footwear i guess.

You dont see falcons players slipping like that on the regular so probably an equipment adjustment that can be made.

What injuries were attributable to the turf?

wait, you think the SEC rolls up the Falcons field and puts down their own? You think the SEC stores their own field somewhere, just waiting to put it down for the SEC championship game?

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

And by the way, I live it Atlanta and watch the Falcons -- it's the same field.

Anyone who reads and posts on sports message boards has witnessed play on turf fields over the years.

There's no telling how many games I've witnessed in half a century.

I have never seen that much old tire flying. Whether by design or not, traction on that field Saturday was horrible.

I seem to be wrong here, but it is not unheard of. Heck, Houston used to swap out a natural grass field with a turf field depending on if it was NFL or high school/college.
