who was the British general that rounded up Muslims, slaughtered a pig in front of them, dropped bullets in the blood & then shot most of them? He allowed a few to escape to spread the word?

we need to do that again today

It was rumored to be General John "Black Jack" Pershing. Although I don't believe 'he had most of them shot' part.

I do believe the 'blood sprinkle' however and it was reported to have occurred in the Philippines against Muslim fighters. The left will do ALL they can to dispel this today, but it was pretty widely reported in the papers here in America at the time. Still know a solider today (just celebrated his 99th, last of the last) who swore it happened.

Pretty sure you're talking about Black Jack Perishing.... against the Moros and he was an American, not British.

He did bury some of the Moros in a mass grave with a pig and readily admitted to it in his autobiography which I have read, so frick Snopes.

That war in the Philippines also gave us the Colt 1911, perhaps the great combat pistol John Browning could have ever graced us with.

Pershing had asked for a more hard hitting pistol caliber because the Moros would get all drugged-up before charging and I think we were using the Colt M1892 in 38 Long Colt, a revolver. The semi autos were already in development at the time and some of our units were even using Lugers in 9mm. But Pershing had insisted on keeping his men equipped with the more reliable revolvers until Browning gave him the 1911 and the rest is history.

But yeah, Pershing absolutely did bury Moros in a mass grave with a pig and had some of the natives watch in disbelief so they could go back and tell everyone and word would get it, if we kill you, you're going to be buried in a mass grave with a pig.

It changed the direction of that little insurrection in a hurry.
