Ecerything can get better. 2 OT would be awesome. But, if we had to take this class now I'm good.

Thanks Coach O et al

How could you possibly be good with an oline class with no tackles? A class with no RB?

I have no doubt LSU will land a stud at RB, it is very likely we land Zachary Evans, who is a 5 star RB recruit, after we beat Georgia tomorrow (his other top choice). Tackle is a concern, but I have faith that Coach O will be able to get a solid tackle recruit simply by pitching to recruits that the class currently does not have one which means the opportunity for early playing time at an elite school.

Right.

BUT...OP said he would be happy with this class AS IS. No doubt it's a great class, but there are definitely holes that still need filling.

Agreed, it is a great class currently but does still have needs. However it is not as if the current roster is lacking in RB talent at all, even if we didn't get one this cycle it wouldn't be detrimental. Tackle may be another story.

Lets beat the hell out of the pups and the top recruits will keep flowing in. Hoping to finish with a top two recruiting class this year. Future is looking very bright!

You got it backwards, but you’d be wrong even if you got it right.

We will not use our freshmen tackles, in all likelihood (assuming we get one or two). We will almost certainly need our freshmen running back next year. Clyde is probably going pro, and there is an excellent chance we see a transfer from that position. That would leave two quality running backs on the roster. Anything less than four is dangerous, because of the possibilities of injury. Texas was down to their fourth string running back when we played them. So we NEED a running back in this class.

Tackle is a position that takes three years, on average, to develop into a good player. If we miss on it this year, then in 2022 we will have no tackles who have more than two years. If you don’t think this is a problem I give you Austin Deculus and Saahdiq Charles, two guys who were abused in 2018 (their second year), but are very good this year.

if clyde goes pro why would there be an "excellant chance one transfers"?

I guess because he'd be a third year player looking at being 4th on the depth chart.

That said, I really like the kid and hope he sticks around. He's got a tremendous work ethic and could end up being a valuable contributor at some point, like Brosette.
