Standing barbell just annoys me more. Maybe when I build some more strength it won't. I just don't like having to move my face out of the way of the bar. It makes me feel like I arch my back too much getting it past my head.

Probably not doing it properly. You’re supposed to move your head out of the way during the press, but once your head is clear, you’re supposed to push your head back through to it’s normal position as you press. Make sure your arse cheeks are clenched and you have a good brace in your core.
