Santa would first arrive in a helicopter on a Saturday.
From there, he would ho-ho-ho all the way to Christmas. You could hear him blocks away. Great memories.

Someone just posted this picture in the Old Images of Baton Rouge Facebook page. I just had so many memories of going to Goudchaux's and seeing that Santa every Christmas. It's just awesome to see someone shared a picture of it.

I've got two or three pics of me sitting on the Goudchauxs Santa's lap in a box in the closet. Christmas in Baton Rouge for people of a certain age was Goudchauxs

My mama says that mfer scared the shite outta me when I was a toddler. But I don't remember it. I only remember loving it by age 7 or 8.

Was this the same Santa that was always used? Or did his appearance change in the 1980s? I seem to recall him looking a little different. Just too young to remember.
