Seeing as how our season is pretty much DOA do you guys think we should move the vets we have signed through next year at the deadline or wait until we know the results of the lottery and try to make moves on draft night? Holding on to guys could cause some issues during FA but this really isn't a big upcoming FA class, nor is anyone gonna want to come here.

The only way we are ever building this team is through the draft.

Besides about four guys on this squad, everyone is 23 or younger. Jrue, JJ, Favors, Moore. Moore is the only one I’d move. Jrue isn’t going anywhere. We could move jj but I think his experience at the guard will be great to teach the young guns. Favors needs to stay to guide Zion and Hayes. I like the veterans and experience they bring to the table at the different positions.

We have a ton of draft capital. We can make moves with the 20 draft picks we have over the next 5 seasons. With the way Hayes has quickly progressed I think jah is expendable.

Our main pieces I think that are expendable are: zo, Moore, jah, and frank.

The only bad thing, no one wants those pieces. They can’t help a championship caliber team. Jrue or JJ are the biggest trade chips, Jrue isn’t part of the future ( next 3-5 years ). Strike while eye iron is hot with him. He’s getting older, price tag is slowly dropping

We also have Miller’s expiring contract and the Cavs fake first as more expendable assets.

If they want to be here, hold on to them through the year..

Talk around the league right now is GS will look to move their pick for a veteran player no matter where it lands..

You could end up with the #1 pick and Dlo for Jrue, then flip Dlo for other pieces or keep him, whichever you prefer..

That would be the best package we could get for him IF we were to trade him (not saying I want to, just if it happens)

I’d dangle Jrue out there and see if anyone bites. I’d keep JJ around because it looks like he’s actually mentoring these young guys. He is a great locker room presence and he’s pretty easy on the eyes too!

GS trading Dlo and their first for Jrue wouldn’t make sense to me

They can get way more than Jrue for that

JJ will be playing for a contender after the trade deadline. If we are 10 games out of 8th place at the deadline, there is literally no reason to have him on this roster.

I am also trying to package Moore and Miller for any talent I can pick up. Also, I am trying to move Lonzo for anything and Favors if any contender wants him.

Unless JJ and/or Favors ask to be traded, it would not be a good look on the front office to sign them as FAs and trade them at the deadline. We have to be concerned about how veterans trust the front office going forward.

C'mon man, basketball players are dumb, they would never hold that against us.. I mean we've signed so many top tier free agents before, why would they care about 2 of them being traded?*sarcasm off*
