I'm looking for steakhouse recommendations in Atlanta for a group of 4-5 going for the game this weekend. I will be staying in the Cumberland area, if that helps. I found Stoney River, but have no idea if it fits the bill. Any help from those in the know is appreciated!

Hal's is one of the best in the city. Highly recommended.

Bone's and Kevin Rathbun Steak are two of the best in town, imo.

Chops Lobster Bar if money is no issue, otherwise go to Bones

My ranking

1a) Hal's for the food
1b) Bone's for classic steakhouse appeal (and food)
2) Chops Lobster Bar
3) Rathbuns Steak (not KR Steakbar)
4) Cap Grille (Buckhead only)
5) Kaiser's Chophouse (SS)

Also good: Little Alley (either location), C. Ellet's, McKendricks

Closest to you are probably C. Ellet and maybe Hals. 101 Steak is near you in Vinings and is ok but it's a cut below the others. Stoney River is fine but I wouldn't hang out around Cumberland, it's a shitty mall.

Kevin Rathbun Steak

Great steak but sides, service, and prices were awful.

I'm kind of jaded when it comes to steakhouses these days. With access to Prime beef, sous vide, a million and one side dish recipes online, and procuring ingredients for much less money than your restaurant bill would be, steakhouses just seem to always disappoint.

That said, I've heard from friends that Hal's is fantastic, especially if you have someone else paying.
