Brennan just doesn’t have that toughness that Joe asserts. He is not the leader that Joe is. I see a big drop off next year. Brennan needs to Lean to control his cannon. Can’t throw a touch pass as he should have to Emery few games ago. This team will go as far next season as Brennan can take them. It soon will be his team to show what he is all about!

Brennan will be better than most other qbs we have had. The difference in Burrow is his mobility in the pocket. That's what sets Tom Brady apart. Few guys have an elite ability like that. Plus his toughness is off the charts.

No one is saying that fans SHOULDNT have high expectations. But how high expectations certainly should be considered . My expectations for a solid season for a QB would be 3600-3700 yards and with a very high TD/INT ratio difference.
One can not expect to Brennan to match what Burrow has done. Expect him to be solid, but to be a heisman winner and break SEC records?
That’s once in a generation deal.
Completely unfair to Brennan. Especially if there will be a better run game with TDP/Emery/Evans at their disposal. That run game can take away from your passing game, and that’s ok.
I know several fans will have a fit if he's not perfect, but I think many of you are overreacting. There is not going to be another QB on our team worth starting over Brennan. He's going to finish with a pretty good cmp%, probably pass for close to 4k, and have at least 30 pass TDs. With that gun slinger mentality, I do expect more ints, but Brennan hasn't started a game since high school.

We're not losing 3 games next year. Way too much talent on offense.
Well, we need to wait until we see who declares. We could lose ALL 5 of our starting linemen. If that happens we’ll lose at least three next year. I hope folks are realistic about 2020. We are losing the best QB in the nation and, depending on who declares, we could lose a ton of starters. We are taking a step back next year.

The defense too should be pretty stout, as I think some speed guys like Cherry, McClendon, and Funia will be worked into the DL rotation. So the pass rush should overall be better as well. Webb and Ojulari will probably rotate at the Buck. Meanwhile, I'm thinking Brooks will probably try to take Delpit's old spot. Also, Stevens, Harris, and Hampton will all rotate at the Safety spots. Then Stingley and Ricks will man the corners. The linebacker corps will be pretty much the same unless Jacob Phillips heads off to the NFL.
Wow, Ricks is coming in and beating out Flott and Ward? Brooks is not a replacement for Delpit. He more likely replaces Stevens who will be in the NFL. Safeties are likely Hampton and Harris.
The dline could be a problem depending on who declares. It’s a safe bet we get Farrell back to pair with Ika and Evans, but Logan and Shelvin could go, and lawrence and Fehoko are out of eligibility. We could be desperately low on depth, and in the “good” scenario, we have Farrell, Ika, Evans, and Logan as proven two deep guys, with a bunch of true freshmen providing depth.

I'm a believer too, yet he needs major reps on his touch, and with the receivers

He needs to deliver the ball 2/10 second sooner. Then he'll be all set.

I doubt it. I bet he has a good year and throws for 68% 3,800 yards 33 TDs and 12 interceptions, and leads us to a 10-3 record and a NY 6 game. AND I bet he is booed and disparaged on the rant, which will be pregnant with conspiracies of Ensminger calling the plays and Orgeron handcuffing Brady because he’s jealous.
could see all of this happening...sadly

I expect him to do very well but idiots on here will compare him to Joe and be screaming for the backup.
Does Mickey Guidry have any eligibility left?
He was my all-time favorite back-up.

Brennan needs to learn how to control his arm strength not every throw needs to be thrown with velocity

Brennan is primarily playing with 3rd string receivers. They don’t get open like the first string or they would be first string. Therefore most of Brennan’s passes are threading the needle to get the ball into tight windows. When he gets the luxury of throwing to the LSU / NFL caliber receivers on the first team, Brennan will be just fine.
