500 room hotel in 202 days back in 1968

In San Antonio, H.B. Zachry built a 500 room hotel for the worlds fair in 202 days back in 1968... they claim to have been the first to revolutionize modular construction. Its no 2 weeks but considering it was the first of its time, I'd say thats pretty good.

A couple years after that, I had a summer job with the company that built those rooms (Construction Modules, Inc). That summer we did a couple hundred rooms for a Holiday Inn going up in Orlando, FL, then started on hospital rooms (I can't remember where the hospital was)

It seemed to me like a pretty valid way to put up that type of building, but I've got no idea at all on the economics of it. I suspect it worked well at the time because we were non-union and paid pennies. I deserved pennies -- I was an inexperienced summer job kid, but even the good workers got shite.
