I think this is kind of my point. I don't know what the numbers say but it feels like LSU doesn't get the most out of their talent. Like they're not developing players to their full potential. They seem to go into the NFL and be better especially on the offensive side of the ball but it's happened on the defensive side too. It's the exact opposite with most teams where a guy balls out in college and end up as busts in the NFL.

A lot of times it’s scheme but the NFL can maximize players with constant coaching. Practices can only be so long and there’s only so many in college and guys don’t get the 1 on 1 coaching they need. Also, a lot of positional coaching talent is sacrificed to get a better recruiter on a staff.

NFL just flat out has better coaching.

LBs dropping into coverage, or cage rushing, or spying, get fewer sacks.

LBs who can rush and cover get drafted higher.

It isn't about his production, it's about ability.

"getting the most out of their talent" means doing their job as set forth by the coaches. If he is supposed to cover, and does it well... they got the most out of him without recording a sack.

Playing well means doing your job, well. He's been asked do alot of things other than rush the QB. And did them well. Hence his draft stock went up because of that.

Now if you think his job is to ONLY to get sacks, that's on you. If you think he should be able to cover and get a sack on the same play, that's also on you. But NFL GMs and coaches love to see both.
