i know barranquilla makes carnival a big deal... and i know folks are actively trying to make cartagena a spring break destination..

but outside of 'quilla and trinidad(kinda in the area).. i'd have no clue what mardi gras or carnival was.

in panama city...

if you are interested in pay to play thing.. panama city is basically the major leagues for colombian putas.
(because they earn roughly 4-5x more there)
and endless supply of fit girls big fake tits with big fake arse.. . but you wont find a non-hustler amongst them.

the best talent will be found at Habano’s Cafe(cigar bar)

panamanian chicas are as cute and sweet as anywhere.. if you look local, and can lie your brains out in spanish..and negotiate around the endless beta types around her...you might actually have a chance with a top shelf local

Casco Viejo and around Via Argentina(at least when i last visited) was where the non-pro nightlife was...

fwiw, the best dim sum in the entire world...
can be found in panama city(@ Lung Fung).
i'd worth going....just for that alone.

that said..
i'd spend a day or 2(or none) in panama city and the rest in cartagena.
panama is a work city to me..
it is good place to live or work.. but if i'm there i'm there 'cause i have to be there.

in cartagena just stay in cartagena centro historico.. the nightblub scene changes...but is pretty easy to find

or if there for the pay-to-pay scene then staay in laguito or boca chica for easy access to the infamous la vida dulce nightclub.

...

remember that there was a war going on in rural colombia until very recently...
i personally would not be much concerned about some entitled hipsters throwing a temper tantrum.

I just returned home from this trip. Absolutely incredible! The traffic however was a nightmare. Some great advice was given. I appreciate the help for sure.

this thread makes me wish I would have spent a few weeks in Colombia before I was married
