i have come to rely on using the voice and RF version of the remote so i wouldn't want to go back to IR.

the IR is easily blocked in my experience; i can tell because it takes about 5-10 seconds before the RF is activated and its impossible to control it until that is on.

so i would personally opt for the better remote if we're talking same price.
