quote:eh, the broader the media platforms/mediums get, the narrower the coverage is for them to compete across those platforms.
All these stupid sports talk people keep dogging us after one bad defensive game.
So when they get something to talk about, true or false, narrative or story, primary or tertiary, the laser in on that.
In this case it's the terrible rush defense. We're #1... any topic, good or bad, is going to bring the most attention/clicks/ratings. And then you see the 'follow the leader' effect where Media Co. A talks about it on TV, has to follow suit on a radio show, then Media Co. B follows suit because now it is on multiple platforms.
Hence every story/narrative gets beat to death until the next one.
And ponder this... they'd rather talk about our OM game defense than continue to hammer on the idea that Saban left Tua in too long. Also to ponder: why none, or very few, of the stories focus in on our defensive issues all season long; just OM game. Nor do they give OM and Plumlee/RichRod any credit; only our deficiencies. That tells you the WHY the method of pursuit of these stories- because they want to talk about #1.
