At some point though, it has to be on the players. You can dial up all the blitzes and call the coverage to perfection, but if you are physically and mentally outplayed it doesn't really matter.

But we barely blitzed. When we blitzed we were creating negative plays. It’s not like we were bringing the house and they gashed us a few times. We just played blah defense and the players got smoked

Oh, don’t say that on this board. I have been attacked REPEATEDLY here because I’ve aid the same thing. When a player fails, it’s NEVER his fault. It’s 100%, every time on the coaches, NO MATTER WHAT.

This board doesn’t understand that there’s a line where coaching ends and execution begins. Posters here will argue until they’re blue in the face that such a thing doesn’t exist.

You have a point, but I can't get past the surges we've seen consistently from opposing offenses in the second half, save the Florida game. That tells me our opponents are doing a better job of adjusting to Aranda than he's doing.

I think he is a weak game day coach. Love everything else about him, but it is what it is.
