He does local sports in Arizona.
Quite the fall from grace, or whatever.

I remember 2007-08 Holtz would do his pep talk I believe at halftime of the Thursday night game for whichever team had a big game Saturday. Man what a time that was

Danny Kanell wishes his douchey, contrarian shtick could be on Trev Alberts' level.

Even 5 or so years ago, ESPN's college football original shows were still at their peak.
College football final is now a joke, and a total shadow of its former self. I don't even watch it.
But when Davis, Holtz, and May were there, they were great together. You'd stay up til 2 am to see what they had to say just for the entertainment.
The old 2 hr college Gameday with Fowler and when it wasn't so bloated and NO Rinaldi cry pieces was even better.
Thats what always made college football so much fun. The likes of Beano Cook and Corso and Holtz, etc., all in the media were true Characters.

He had like a string of games where the team hed give a pep talk to would lose, so he ended up giving a pep talk to Navy when they played ND to try to jinx them. It didnt work.

The 90's we're great when Corso, Fowler and Beano Cook would spend about 30 minutes at the end of each Saturday just pouring over the entire day's games from coast to coast.

I still love College Football Final. Best part of my week is waking up Sunday morning and watching it.

One of those nights was when Beano infamously predicted Notre Dame would win at least two national championships and Ron Powlus would win at least two Heismans in 4 years.

I miss that show so much. Would always stay up to watch it.
Now I don't bother.

The ACC wheel of destiny was spectacular as well. They should give Pat Mcaffe college football final.

I realize they still have college football final (Jesse Palmer and some others) but it isn’t as good as Holtz and May were. There isn’t much comedic value.
I also feel like no one watches it because there are games on til at least 1 am now and we check scores on our phone instead of watching highlights.

ESPN always ruins things. Lou Holtz and Mark May were treasures!
