2 point underdog to Iowa on the road this weekend.
I don't have anything against Minnesota, and hope they do well. But, they will now have to learn how to play as the "hunted" and not the "hunter!"....totally different mindset.
We'll see how they do and I'm sure the committee will want that question answered.

That's because Iowa is going to beat them this weekend.

Home field is usually worth 3. They just had an emotional win. Penny state wasn’t as good as advertised. Vegas wants to see more evidence before dropping a bigger line on them.

Vegas doesn't think bettors trust Minnesota yet so that's a nice opening line but Minn is going to smoke Iowa

Georgia freaking southern lost 35-32 to them. They are a fraud.

Vegas could care less about being impressed with Minny. They care about winning money.
Vegas thinks the general public isn’t impressed with the Gophers, hence the line they came out with.

Minnesota will beat Iowa and Wisconsin, and I don’t doubt they will put up a game against OSU in the title if they don’t actually win that too.
Go look up pj flecks motivational tactics. His row the boat mantra is more than a kitschy saying. It’s very literally a way of life and from what I saw Saturday, his team believes it.
They are really talented at the WR position and their QB is accurate. They have a fantastic secondary and a stout all around defense. They are disciplined and efficient. This is a football team that would beat half of the top 5.
PJ fleck will win a national title at Minnesota before he leaves, if he even does leave anytime within the next 10 years.

I’m staying away but if I was betting on this one I would take Iowa and the points...Minnesota is riding high right now and Iowa, for the Big 10 or whatever they call themselves now, isn’t a slouch and have a history of knocking teams off that high horse after a big win.

Back in my gambling days I used to have a good theory:
If a team wins a game big enough for their fans to storm the field after, bet against them the next week. It’s hard to come back down from that emotional high for teams that haven’t been there before.
But I haven’t been a gambling man for a long time now, so take it for what it’s worth.

I get Vegas’ reasoning, I expect nothing less.
What I don’t get is neutral fans who seemingly hope they lose. Everyone complains about all the “blue bloods” and the same ole, same ole every year. Here we are with a fresh and exciting team, rabid fan base (home crowd looked awesome for Penn State), and one of the best young coaches having a banner year. They could disrupt that whole system. Why on earth would people not want these guys to win out and beat Ohio State for the B1G championship? Give us some new blood in the postseason.
I’m not saying they will, but they’re easy to root for imo. Seems like people just like to hate no matter what. Must be a miserable life to not just enjoy a sport you love.
