1. The election hasn't happened yet.
2. JBE is an incumbent and Louisiana's Constitution gives the governor a shite ton of unilateral power. That makes incumbents VERY powerful for ensuring loyalty at the local level and preventing defections by connected people.
3. Louisiana is the reddest state in the United States and always has been. And by red, I mean Communist. We were the first state to adopt widespread communist policies for all. As a result, the New Deal was based heavily on what Huey Long was doing here. Huey's influence has only grown stronger over time through governor's like Edwin Edwards.
4. There have only been 2 multi-term republican governors since...ever?
5. We have the largest percentage of population not in the labor force compared to every other state. Our state government also employs the largest percentage of the population compared with any other state. Thus, the governor for the party of growing state government and expanding entitlements basically has nearly 50% of the vote already baked in.
6. MASSIVE institutional voter fraud through the taxpayer-funded Counsel on Aging which basically prefills ballots and forges signatures for absentee ballots of retirees, vegetables in nursing homes, and the recently deceased.

All very good points and spot on. We also have parts of the state that are very different from each other. Think Southwest = Cajun, New Orleans, (proper) = Creole, Northshore, (Florida Parishes) = Superior "Mutts"; like myself and everything north of I-10 = Similar to College Station/Bryan, TX.
