Jalen mills was 2 star for ESPN.

I vividly remember thinking to myself, why the hell are we signing this guy.

Jefferson was a composite 3 star and mainly just because he was a grade risk that didn't camp many places.

Hester was listed as a fullback, which rarely gets rated highly.

Honey Badger was a 3. He played like a 6.

Tyrann Mathieu was a low 4 star, which isnt a low grade but obviously too low for one of the best DBs in college football history. Greedy was pretty low too.

No.

He was a 4 star. This is a myth. He dominated camps, rose to a 4*, and was highly recruited by major programs as a 4 star recruit.

regarding Hester, how else would you have rated him coming out of high school?

Yeah, there is a difference between being a rising prospect and a flat out unheralded guy. Mathieu was the former.

Jefferson is not especially fast, but he runs exceptional routes and has great hands.

ESPN is far and away the worst and least respected recruiting rankings service. Don't link it again, you'll just embarrass yourself further.

Argument can still be made he was underrated given his production, but he wasn't some no name guy like people act.

The day Tyrann committed, at least on Rivals he was still a 2 star, his stock was going up from camps but it hadn't been changed...i remember perfectly because I thought "2 star? We are taking 2 stars?

Jefferson was a 3 star, not 2. I didn't know there was such a thing as a 2 star.

Flott was a 3 star
CEH was a 3 star
Neil Farrell was a 3 star
Justin Thomas was a 3 star
Cushenberry was a 3 star
Adrian Magee was a 3 star
DJ Chark was a 3 star
Russell Gage was a 3 star
Deion Jones was a 3 star
Trae Turner was a 3 star
Mo Claiborne was a 3 star
Bennie Logan was a 3 star

there are plenty of 3 stars that end up being good. It's not crazy to get a lot better from age 17 to age 19.

I mean, you're right.
He got recruited by powerhouses like Hampton, FIU, LA-Monroe, Miami (OH), Tulane, SMU, Southern Miss and Tenn.

He did move to a 4 star, but highly recruited might be a stretch. LSU and Tennessee were his only P5 offers
