I'm back to my original high level of skepticism about his being in uniform for the date(s) of testimony now, given the non-uniformed pics. Full disclosure, the non-uniformed are claimed to be separate date of going to review his transcripts only. Yet it's still a fairly high profile appearance on Capitol Hill.
Thinking back on the contentious uniform thread from yesterday, there were many positions that "it's completely common and even preferable and respectful to appear before Congress in uniform." Well, problem is that the reality of the situation was not the mental picture that pops up with "appearing before Congress" as in what we see on TV. These are not even called "hearings" but instead "depositions" which are understood to be less formal.
So Im back to he wore the uniform because that was when the cameras would be chaotically snapping him at the center of the action....with captions and stories starting with "Colonel Vindman provides bombshell testimony". And of course the accompanying "decorated military man"....
