Political science. I have owned the house for a year. Mortgage is 1400. The thing is I hate my job the number one reason is there is no room for advancement and I feel like I reached my ceiling at 32. I have applied for a few sales jobs on the internet but no response because I don’t have experience in sales. My current job is in construction. I work for a mom and pop company that actually does really well in its field the problem is all the top positions are occupied by young family members.

You can easily make $50K at an entry level sales job. Payroll and copiers are where a lot of people start. Dont just apply online, walk in and ask to speak to the manager. Get some sales experience under your belt and a whole new world of possibilities will open for you.

Mortgage is $1400?
Guessing you financed $300k for 30 years? On a $50k salary?
Don’t know if it will enable you to get a better job, but you need to sell that place yesterday. That you refuse to consider getting rid of it sounds like you’re just not hungry enough for a comfortable financial situation yet.

Move to TX. Work in construction for a large home builder.
You'll make more in salary, OT, plus bonuses.
At least that's what I did when I felt similar to you a couple years ago.
